Training & Civic Engagement
We believe that the people hold the answers. They need to be able to have a place where they can hone their responses to critical issues such as incarceration, unemployment, inequality.
MichFA works with the community to help identify the issues most important to them and give them a format and process to come up with solutions which:
- Are community based
- Give activists the skill set to impact policy that changes outcomes for the better
- Build the capacity of community leaders to address issues that matter to them most
We hold a number of trainings that arm community leaders on topics like:
- Understanding your voting rights
- How to canvass
- Talking to the media
- How to be a phone banker
- Fundraising
- Volunteerism
- How to conduct a 1 to 1
- How to hold a listening session
- How to talk to your legislator
We build our programming and trainings in response to what Community leaders feel they need in order to fully engage in the role of attacking these issues, through the war on children, women and families, and on poor people in Michigan.
Events & Rallys
MFA is a community of faith-rooted, multicultural people, who mobilize to support issues that matter to them.
Michigan Faith in Action works hard on certain issues to make the process is equitable and fair. We are actively engaged in state-wide and nation-wide campaigns, whether that be to protect and serve poor communities, develop new ways for voter engagement, or be the the voice for the marginalized and the voiceless.
All of our events, whether it is a rally, a lie-in, or Zoom think-tanks, are outlets for people who love being a part of direct-impact activities. MFA looks to support and encourage that effort to flourish among the people who will ultimately become leaders and activists of the future.
